Grace Marilyn Perkins, 91, of The Villages, FL passed away peacefully on Feb 20, 2017 with her family by her side at Brandley House Hospice.

She was born in Germantown, PA, daughter of the late Glenn Stafford and Grace Fetter Knapp and sister of the late Glenn Stafford Jr and Roger Kingdon Knapp of New York.   Following two years at Northfield School for Girls, she moved to Lynn, MA where she graduated from Lynn English High School and where at age 22 she met her late husband of 69 years, Philip Walker Perkins who passed away on Jan 23, 2017 at Brandley House Hospice.

In her young years she worked as a legal secretary in Boston, MA and in her later years as a medical records director in MA.  She lived with her husband in Lynn and Lynnfield, MA before retiring to Naples, FL and Waterville Valley, NH then moving to The Villages.

Lynne was active as a deaconess and church choir soloist for many years in MA before becoming a member of the First Baptist Church in The Villages.  She was a girl scout leader for both daugthers and a Lynnfield Art Guild president in MA.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and was an avid and talented gardener.

Lynne, wife of the late Philip Perkins is survived by their two daughters, Deborah and son-in-law Eric Peake of N Wales, UK and Susan Mara and her fiance, Lee Peterson of The Villages; granddaughter Katie Visser and great grandsons Gabriel and Noah of Scottsdale, AZ; nephews and wives: Dick and Sandi Perkins of The Villages and Dave and Karen Perkins of Allenstown, NH and niece Diane Kennedy of Hampton, NH along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lynne’s Life was held on Monday, Feb 27, 2017 at The Springs of Lady Lake Assisted Living Chapel for close friends, family and residents.  She will join her husband at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Grace’s memory to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860.

The family wish to extend their gratitude to all the Brandley House staff for their loving and respectful care given to both Philip and Grace Perkins these past few weeks and to their family during this difficult time.  Their generous loving care made everyone’s journey so much easier and memorable.  We can not thank you enough.
