Perhaps the most exceptional thing about Grace was that she was ALWAYS Grace. She was down-to-earth, never pretentious, an independent thinker, but accepting of the ideas of others. She treated everyone with respect, a clue as to why everyone respected her so much. I will think of her when I make butterhorns because she always liked to stash a few away for her own enjoyment. I will think of her each time I take out placemats that her hands quilted. I will think of her when I watch the birds at our feeder, knowing how she loved them. I will miss not being able to pick up the phone and visit with her. I loved Grace, and I picture her now smiling, flying free with her birds, and watching over family and friends.
