Greg Longstreth, 69, peacefully passed away at home on August 25th. He was born in Akron, Ohio and moved to Port Orange in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vera Longstreth; sister, Vicki Redovian. He is survived by his sister, Cathy; daughters, Andrea (Craig) and Angie; niece, Tammy and nephews, Tim, and Mike (Gabriel); grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey, Emma, and Chloe; brother-in-law, Greg; longtime companion and adventurer, Linda; partner in crime, Gary (Trish); and “favorite ex-wife”, Millie. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and many loyal and caring friends.

Greg’s career as a district manager at Western Southern Financial Group spanned over 30 years. He was a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU). His career continued as a site manager for Meals on Wheels at Council on Aging where he enjoyed serving the community and where he made many friends. Greg belonged to the fraternal organization of Masons while living in Akron, Ohio and served as a Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge.

He followed in his dad’s footsteps with his zest for life and infectious belly laugh. He was a compassionate caregiver to many, and he entertained his friends and family with his dance moves. He could easily draw people in and often commanded the room with his witty and captivating storytelling. He was always up for an adventure and enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, RVing, and cruising. Many of us received pictures of food throughout the years as he enjoyed this part of his life, especially Barberton chicken and peach upside-down cake.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Council on Aging of Volusia County Meals on Wheels in Greg’s name at 420 Fentress Blvd., Daytona Beach FL 32114 or online at www.coavolusia.org. A celebration of life will take place on September 8th from 1-3 PM in the social room at Oceans Grand, 2 Oceans West Blvd., Daytona Beach Shores.
