H. Thomas "Red" Farnham, 61 of New Smyrna Beach died at home with his wife by is side on Monday, December 17, 2012. Tom was born August 12, 1951 in Simla, Colorado to the late Mary Ann and Harold T. Farnham. Tom retired from the United States Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant. He is survived by his loving wife, Cricket.
My friend, Tom Farnham, has died.
Although we served in two different branches of the armed forces, we knew each other for many years, ever since we first met in 1986 when he was attached with the Military Assistance Command in Ecuador. Toms early years in the USAF started as a mechanic for the T-33 jet trainer and his last USAF command concerned the development of the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter. Later, we served together in the U.S. Embassies of Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia. As he rose through the ranks to Chief Master Sergeant, he continued his education finally earning a Masters Degree.
We worked together, we traveled together, we drank beer together. He loved his wife, Cricket, and he loved life. He was a great person to know.
I can say that Tom brightened up a room when he entered and his absence makes my room darker. He was my shipmate, he was my friend, and I will miss him.

Tom will always stay in my heart. It was thanks to him that I met my husband Eric in Finland. They were stationed there at the same time. Tom's lovely wife Cricket is like a sister to me, my Thai sister. Tom and Criket have very strong ties and I's sure they will meet again.
