Obituary

Harley Bruce “Bud’ Heichel, age 75 of Ocklawaha, Florida, died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 1, 2024 with his daughter Amy, son Bruce and dog by his side.

He was born February 24, 1949 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, son of Harley J. “Bud” Heichel and T. June (Carey) Heichel. He was predeceased by his partner of 25 years Anona Blackwell in 2017, a son Ty Alan Heichel in 2023 and daughters Ann Marie Heichel in 1997, Tammy Louise Zemaitis in 1992 and sister Cindy Krisinger in 2022

Bud is survived by his daughter Amy (Chris) Jeffery of Dahlonega Georgia, and sons Chris (Peggy) Heichel of Mansfield Pennsylvania, Harley “Bull” Heichel, Bruce (Heather) Heichel, Alan “Choppy” Heichel and Curtis “Speedy” Blackwell of Ocklawaha, Florida. Bud is also survived by one sister Norma (Randy) Smith of Jonestown, Pennsylvania and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bud grew up in Tioga County Pennsylvania and spent many years working and managing dairy farms. He later moved to Florida where he worked landscaping and fixing greenhouse equipment. Bud loved farming and he always had animals on his property, his mules were always his favorite.

Bud will be deeply missed by his family, friends and his faithful companion ‘dog’.
