Obituary

Harold J. Birkhead. Sr, of Mims, Fla, formerly of Hulmeville, PA, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. He was 88 years old.

He was a loving husband, companion, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Harold was born April 11, 1934, to George and Myrtle Birkhead. He attended St. Bernadette High School in Philadelphia. He was an active member of the Carpenters Local Union 1856 for 45 years. Harold enjoyed racing homing pigeons, hunting, and fishing with his son and tinkering with motors and tractors. Other hobbies include riding Harleys, collecting old cars, and watching NASCAR racing.

Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Leonard, George and Virginia and his wife, Patricia (Smith) Birkhead. Harold is survived by his companion Maggie Taylor, his children Harold and his wife Susie, Patricia and her husband Harold “Smitty” and Kathleen “Kitty” and her husband Pete; his grandchildren Rick and his wife Keri, Nicole and her wife Tina and Madison; his great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Megan, Liam, Ryan, Erin, Colin, Maxwell and Lane. He also leaves behind his siblings Eugene and his wife Frankie, Joan and Myrtle.

The family invites you to join them for a life celebration on Thursday, May 19 from 5 to 9pm at Georgine’s Restaurant, 1320 Newport Rd Bristol, Pa. Dinner and drinks will be provided by his family.
