Harold Grahn, age 87, passed away Thursday April 21, 2011. Born in Warwick, Rhode Island August 17, 1923 to Nils and Signe Grahn, he left to serve his country during World War ll where he was awarded the American and Asiatic service medals, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, a Good Conduct medal and a Purple Heart. He was also a member of the 38th Cyclone Division, Avengers of Bittan. Upon his release from Military duty, he settled in New York City where he became a Patrol Officer with the New York Police Department where he stayed until his retirement. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Joseph, also a retired Police Officer.At Harold's request, there are no life celebrations planned.
