Obituary
Harry Eldon McGinnis, 90, a longtime resident of Raymond, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at 12:44 p.m. at Halifax Hospice Center in Edgewater, FL.
Funeral services will be held at Edgewater United Methodist Church in Edgewater, FL, on Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Tarleton officiating.
Mr. McGinnis was born on Sept. 6, 1925, in Litchfield, the son of Harry Parker and Selma McGinnis of Raymond. He married Ruth Laverne Wempen on Sept. 4, 1948, in Raymond, and she survives.
He was a farmer and member of Edgewater United Methodist Church in Edgewater, as well as a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, the Montgomery County Shriners, past president of the M&M Shrine Club in Springfield and a 32nd degree Mason.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McGinnis is survived by his son, James (wife Linda) of Port Orange; daughter, Cathy, of Edgewater; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carliene, in infancy and a grandson, Aaron.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Edgewater United Methodist Church or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
