    Van and I served on the USHector AR 7. He was not only a friend but mentor while serving on the Hector. We met him and his wife at the Hector reunion in Albuquerque several years ago. I have been missing his many email jokes he sent daily. Our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Al Kravitz

    My deepest sympathy to the family. My husband and I have known "Van" for many years (from when he lived on the first tee at the golf course until he moved
    to the condo). ( Lost my husband 8 years ago.)
