Hazel was born in Interstate, West Virginia. She came to New Smyrna Beach in 1979 from Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Rex Bowen. She leaves her children Rock Bowen, Al Bowen, Julie Nerney, grandchildren Jack, Torre Bowen, great grand children Tyler, Christopher and Haley Bowen.

Dearest Family, please be assured that your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of Life. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, praying to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. The Bible tells us that God is "healing the broken-hearted ones and is binding up their painful spot." (Psalms 147:3). My deepest sympathy to the family.
