Obituary

Hazel Wistrand, long time resident of East Bay Twp, MI and New Smyrna Beach, FL, took her final journey from Earth to her eternal home in heaven on Feb 2, 2021, into the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior.
Hazel’s early years were spent in Naples, Florida as a member of a large pioneer family. In 1960 she moved to Traverse City with her husband Walter, where they owned Wistrand Statewide Realty until their retirement in 1979. They sold the business but remained active in most other aspects of the trade. After retirement, they spent most of the year at their Florida home in New Smyrna Beach, and the summer months at their Michigan home in Traverse City and cottage on Elk Lake.
She leaves behind her husband, Walter Wistrand, children; Gail (Dennis) Bushong, Janis Wistrand, Marc (Lorraine) Wistrand, Lesli Wistrand, Jill (Don) Hanna, and Anna Wistrand, along with 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Grace Elizabeth Allen, 4 sisters, Leona Allen, Pearl Haley, Lela Armbrust, and Jessie Browning, and 2 brothers, Leroy Allen (Leona’s twin) and Bill Albritton.
Private family services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, 3:00 pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, and at Oakwood Cemetary in Traverse City at a later date.

I enjoyed knowing your Mom. As a neighbor on Richmond Drive it was nice when she and Mrs. Williams would attend a gathering at my home. I know you will miss her. Tricia Cobb
