Obituary
On September 4, 2019 Heather Lynn Howard Minck-Jones, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 56.
Heather was born on June 15, 1963 in San Antonio, TX to Alex Howard and Carol (Burchell) Alves. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo in 1995.
Heather was a talented artist, especially gifted at sewing and crafts. She spent many years caring for others as a home-health aide in Rye, Colorado before moving to Eugene, OR, and finally to Casselberry, FL. Heather loved her Denver Broncos and looked forward to each new football season to cheer them on. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, and her ability to make strangers and friends alike feel welcomed and loved.
Heather was preceded in death by husband Chuck Jones, step-father Rex Alves, and uncle John Burchell. She is survived by her mother Carol Alves, father Alex Howard (Carla), her children Jessica Minck, Emily (Luke) Spears and Morgan Minck, whom she shared with her former spouse Karl Minck, sister Susan (Steve) McConnell, brothers Blain Howard and Cody (Maren) Jackson, sister-in-law Cheryl Jones, nieces Emma McConnell and Samantha Rogers, nephew Aidan McConnell, grandchildren Persephone, Cordelia, Benjamin and Eleanora, aunt Susan (Jim) Scharnhorst, former step-mother Pamela Cadogan, many cousins, companion Ray Houston, and her beloved rescue dog Luna.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church, Winter Park FL on September 21st at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or to St. Richard’s Episcopal Church in her memory.
