Obituary

Helen Marie Sullivan, 80, peacefully passed away Friday, September 17th, 2021.

She was born October 4, 1940, in Holden, Massachusetts, one of 6 children born to Manual and Helen Castro.   As a young nursing student, she would meet the love of her life, a physical therapy aide named Edward Sullivan. They would fall in love and marry, sharing sixty-one years together.

As a nurse, Helen cared for thousands of patients over the course of her career. She nursed them with medicine but also with kindness and love. She loved to read, travel, and dance to 50’s music. Her devotion to her family and God was endless and her love of life inspiring. Never missing a chance to hug those around her and tell them she loved them, Helen was, and will continue to be, a light to all those lucky enough to have met her.

She is survived by her siblings Betty Wilkins, Robert Castro and Chris Fournier, and her four children Shawn Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Joy Fritts and David McMullen-Sullivan; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Her loss is a great blow to her family, and after a time of reflection, a celebration of life service will be held for her and her husband, Edward, who passed five weeks before her. To express condolences, visit www.BaldwinCremation.com.

You always greeted me with a hug and a kiss and made me feel part of your extended family. You always had a smile and a kind word. The world is a less beautiful place without you in it. We will all mis you and Ed so much, my second parents growing up. My prayers of comfort go out to the family and my undying gratitude that they were gracious enough to share both of you with the world.
