Obituary
Mr. Henry (Hank) Andrew Porterfield, born on September 10, 1922 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away at age 95 on July 4, 2018 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Hank graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in engineering. He served in the Army Artillery and the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 in World War II. He was a businessman, a residential real estate broker, and a real estate developer. Henry was the husband of the late Ellen Cole Porterfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Andrew Porterfield, his mother, Helen Jones Porterfield, stepmother, Anna Porterfield, and his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Miriam Porterfield. Henry is survived by his four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Earnest Porterfield (Berta), Steven John Porterfield (Jan), Charles Anthony Porterfield (Tina), Christopher Cole Porterfield (Susan Azar); five grandchildren, Jean Porterfield (Patrick Ceas) Cara Porterfield Steward (Dwight) John Porterfield, Tyler J. Porterfield (Sarah), Elizabeth Alberhasky ( Jeremy); and eight great-grandsons, Evan Ceas, Atticus and Waits Alberhasky, Jake and Zach Porterfield, Darren, Nathan, and Michael Steward. He was in Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Ohio State University. He was a founding member and Chair of Us Too International, an advocacy group focusing on prostate cancer research, as well as of Alliance for Prostate Cancer Prevention (APCaP). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Henry to APCaP, 17660 S Tamiami Trail, Suite 106 Ft Myers, FL 33908.
