Obituary

Henry “Hank” Heise born Dec 11th, 1942 and passed away Friday Nov 8th, 2019.

Hank grew up in Brooklyn, NY, attended undergrad at Syracuse University and obtained his Masters degree at Rutgers University.  He spent his professional life working in Newark, NJ, New York City, NY and lastly Kansas City, Missouri before retiring. .Hank and his wife Sandy got to experience life in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast parts of the US, having lived in Brooklyn, New York, Chatham, New Jersey and Blue Springs,  Missouri prior to retiring to North Fort Myers Florida in 2004.  Hank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family.  Hank loved to go fishing (still waiting to catch that elusive Redfish of Southwest Florida), attending plays at the Broadway Palms, running his lawn mowing business, volunteering at his church’s (All Souls Episcopal Church) thrift store, playing cards with his friends, spending time with his 4 grandchildren, watching Syracuse University football and basketball, Kansas City Royals baseball, learning to cheer for Kansas State football for his grandson and having the New York Jets let him down year after year. Hank had a full life of cooking dinners at the clubhouse and helping out  his friends at Old Bridge Village, coaching his kids sports in Chatham, New Jersey, playing paddle ball at Minisink Swim Club, playing cards & board games, especially words with friends. Hank loved making German deserts and breakfast items with his grandkids.  He had fond memories of fishing with his grandkids and even catching sharks.  Hank was fluent in German and traveled to Germany to visit his family multiple times with his loving wife Sandy.  One of Hank’s favorite hobbies was following the weather and helping fellow Old Bridgeians get ready for any upcoming storms or hurricanes.

Hank is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra (Sandy) Heise, Son and Daughter in law – Henry and Kim Heise, Daughter and Son in law – Heidi and Craig Pardue, Son and girlfriend Harvey Heise, 4 grandchildren Elijah, Luke, Elizabeth and Henry. His cousins from Germany : Gerhard & Ellen Goltz, Horst & Gitte Heise, Giselher &Barbara Hickel, Heidrun & Gerhard Herboth  and Gudrun & Sigurd Pfau  and deceased Rudiger & Inga Hickel.

Plans for a memorial service and celebration of life are being planned for early 2020.  The family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to All Souls Episcopal Church 14640 North Cleveland Street, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903 in memory of Henry “Hank” Heise.
