Obituary
Henry Anthony LaBrun, 85, a resident of Fort Myers, Florida, died peacefully the morning of Friday, February 17, 2023, following a recent illness. Born in Menominee, Michigan, to the late Henry and Leone LaBrun, he grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, he was employed by the former Cooper-Bessemer Corporation and its successors for his entire career. He held several sales and executive positions with the company, ultimately becoming president of Cooper Energy Services (then a division of Cooper Industries Inc. and later a division of Cooper Cameron Corporation). He moved with his family several times during his working years, living in Louisiana, Texas, California, Pennsylvania and Ohio before retiring to Florida. An avid golfer his entire life, in retirement he was an active member of the Colonial Country Club community in Fort Myers, including serving in many leadership roles on its boards and committees. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Judy, at home in Fort Myers, and the couple’s son, Henry, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina. Known fondly as Hank, his family and many friends will never forget his intelligence, humor, friendship and love.
In accordance with his previous request, there will not be a formal funeral service, and Hank’s life will instead be celebrated privately at the convenience of his family. The East Colonial location of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society is honored to care for Hank and his family at this time. Those wishing to share online words of comfort or a fond remembrance are encouraged to do so on his memorial page. In lieu of flowers the family requests consideration of a donation in Hank’s memory to your local hospice or to the Colonial Charitable Foundation, Inc., P. O. Box 60931, Fort Myers, Florida 33906 colonialcharitable.org.
Rest in Peace Hank.
