Obituary
Henry Eugene Walker, known as Hank to most, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2020, at the age of 76.
Hank was born in Pinellas County on March 26, 1944 to Ernest and Mildred Walker. Elder brother to Donald, Hank grew up in Palm Harbor, attended the Ozona Baptist Church with his family, and graduated with the first class of Dunedin High School in 1962.
Always fascinated with aviation, he joined the Air Force and spent two years stationed in England, where he also got to tour Ireland and France, bringing back to America his love of Fish and Chips.
On the GI Bill he graduated from the University of South Florida as a Philosophy Major, and transitioned into a career in Criminal Justice. He spent many years as a Deputy Sheriff for Charleston County, SC, specializing in Juveniles, and then on to work with various Prison Systems in GA and then back to FL before retiring to Ocala.
An avid outdoorsman, Hank especially enjoyed golf and fishing, and always Philosophical musings. He was a jokester and he and his trusty Lab companion Sammie always had a smile ready to greet you.
Apart from Sammie, he is survived by his younger brother Donald and wife Gay Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada, Daughter Ann Marie Wright of Jacksonville, FL, Son Brian Emery and wife Donna Walker of Franklin, NC, Son Keith Stuart and wife Jean Walker of Ladson, SC, fourteen grandchildren and 3 great-children with one more on the way.
Hank will be placed at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, with a Memorial Service to follow in the Fall.
