Obituary
Herbert Edwin Miller, 88, New Smyrna Beach FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2015. Herb was born June 24, 1927 the son of Richard and Elizabeth Miller of Orchard Park, NY where as a young man he worked on his family’s farm and his father’s Black Top Service business. Herb was a decorated soldier who proudly served in the US Army. Sargent Miller was in charge of a heavy equipment unit while stationed in the South Korean theater. Upon completion of his military obligation, Herb returned to Orchard Park, NY to start up his own construction business. Herb moved to Silver Creek, NY and started a small carpentry business where he excelled with his many talents. He retired and relocated to Florida and eventually settled in New Smyrna Beach. Herb loved to talk about tractors and reminisce about his childhood working on the farm. He loved to travel and spend time creating many projects in his wood shop. Herb always had a great story to tell and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Herb is survived by his wife of 42 years Diane Widrig Burroughs Miller, sister Gertrude Baun of NY, sons Eric Miller, Daniel Miller, daughters Debbie Ganung, Nora Adleman, step sons Rodger Burroughs, Roy Burroughs, and step daughter Bethann Burlison Lyle. He was predeceased by two stepsons Randy Burroughs, Robert Burroughs and grandchildren Nicole Schulte and and Gabriele Miller. Herb had 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Life Celebration will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park Clubhouse.
