Herb climbed the company ladder at Delta Airlines in airport operations/management and retired after a successful career spanning 33 years. He spent most of his retirement golfing, being outdoors, and enjoying a cigar in the company of good friends.

Herb and I meet back in around 1967. We had a lot in common me, Joseph "the Turk' Terracciano and 'Louis" (as always called him), he being born in Newark and me in Bayonne across the Newark Bay. We worked and had a lot of fun and some great laughs working the ramp together and our days off during the week. I lived around the corner from his Sis Loraine and whenever he had same days off as me,he would swing by and off we would go to Wolfies's for breakfast and 'cruise' and drop in to see Max sometimes on Miami Beach,183rd street.
He took a transfer to Orlando and I to West Palm Beach and didn't re-unite again until after we both retired...He from Jacksonville and I from West Palm Beach. We would meet at his favorite coffee shop for about 2hrs before I had to head out on the nearby Interstate going west around Jacksonville and not too far from his home ,to get on sched with a business I had with clients. A business I had started after retirement from Delta Air Lines. I had the honor of meeting Jillian on one of those coffee breaks.
Now, I know why, I couldn't contact him for such awhile.......................
I was so happy" Louis " drove all the way down from Jacksonville to attend my wedding on December 8th 2008..
My Heart Felt Sympathies go out to the whole family ; His Sisters,Brother and Three Children and His grandchildren.
Rest in Peace My Good Friend and 'GOOMBA'

Stephanie and I lived across the street for 13 years, until we moved to Italy in 2011. A great neighbor and friend, always there for you! We actually ran into Herb in January 2019 at Wicked Barley Brewery when we were back in town for a quick visit. RIP!
