Obituary
Heriberta Ofelia Castellanos passed away at the age of 95, in the City of Ocala, Florida. She departed while holding hands for the last time with her beloved only daughter Marlene, and adored grandchildren, Daniel and Dylan. As she celebrated her 95th birthday just one month prior, she said: “I have lived enough. I have lived longer than most, and I am ready to rest in the arms of my Lord, any day he wants to take me.”
Ofelia, as she preferred to be called, did not want to be known for her level of education or occupation, but rather for her unshakable faith and service to her Lord Jesus Christ and the Church. She showed remarkable courage and strength through all of her life’s struggles and enjoyed the simple pleasures of her hobbies of reading, writing, and crossword puzzles.
Ofelia loved her family dearly. She had outlived nearly all 12 of her siblings, except for her youngest sister, Graciela, who resides in San Antonio de Los Banos, Cuba, which also served as Ofelia’s birthplace. She also outlived many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her only daughter and grandchildren will honor her by trying to measure up to her strength, courage, endurance, and most importantly of all, her FAITH.
