Obituary

Howard Eugene Koyl Sr. went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021
He was born July 5, 1944 to Noel and Evelyn (Blonde) Koyl in Almont and raised in Imlay City, MI. Howard married Sharon (Howell) Koyl on April 12, 1990. He owned/operated Koyl Construction until he retired in 2004. They then moved to Apopka, Florida where they owned/operated a lawn service. Most importantly, since a little boy he wanted to tell people about God. He spent time working at the local jail, ministering to the inmates. In 2009 he started Howard Koyl Ministries with Sharon. Starting with just 12 Bible lesson mailings a month, it grew to 1020 mailed lessons to 70 prisons and 3209 e-mailed to 114 countries in 18 translations monthly. They encouraged everyone in the Lord, all while building a foundation to help them become grounded in the Him.
Howard is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Theresa (Kevin) Hicks of Imlay City, Howard (Barb) Koyl Jr. of Lapeer, Melissa (Chris) Kaake of Lapeer, Brad Garrett of Casco Twp, Jeff (Tish) Garrett of Davison; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; Sisters, Pat (Howard) Burger of North Branch, Kathryn (Ward) Jessop of Jonesboro, GA, Amy (Jodi) Plank of Imlay City, Carolyn McRoberts of Spring Lake; Brother, Nelson (Cyndi) Koyl of San Diego, CA and many nieces and nephews. I was sorry to hear that Howard has entered eternal life. However, our faith tells us that this is our goal in life to rest in the presence of our Lord and God. This is the beauty for a faith filled person which Howard was and preached. His desire to share his faith speaks of who Howard was. We share our faith and thus rejoice knowing that Howard now rests in the arms of Jesus. Howard will be missed by his wife, Sharon, his children/family, his friends, his parish family and his extended family world wide. Rest in PEACE, Howard.
