Hugh P. “Rusty” Mc Gonigle passed away peacefully at his home on May 26,2021 in The Villages, FL . Beloved husband of the late Gail Alcorn McGonigle he is also preceded in death by his parents Hugh McGonagle and Annie Kelly McGonagle and siblings Kathleen Gillespie, Anna Bryant, James Edward, Thomas and Richard McGonagle. Dear brother of Rosemarie Wetterhahn and her husband David of West Roxbury, MA and John McGonagle and his wife Mary of FL; brother-in-law of George Bryant of Norwood, MA. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hugh was born in Jamaica Plain, MA on June 1, 1932. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and worked many years as an engineer for the Raytheon Company. He spent most of his life in California where he met his wife Gail. They were worldwide travelers. He also enjoyed hiking, kayaking, crossword puzzles, music and reading. His family and friends will always remember him as a quiet gentle man. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
