I will always remember Juan for the way he would build people up. He empowered people to work to their full potential. His legacy will live on through all of the people (myself included) who benefited from his mentoring and support. He will be missed not only at GDIT but across the security industry. But our loss, is nothing compared to that of his family. My heart felt condolences to Kim and the rest of his family. I pray that your happy memories offer you some comfort during this difficult time.

Juan was honestly the best leader and mentor that I’ve ever known in my security profession. He was a champion of us all. My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife. I know how extremely important family was to him. I am deeply sadden.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Kim and your family. Juan welcomed me into the GDIT family nearly 7years ago, no matter when I would tap on his door, he always made time to talk to me and offer guidance. I cherish most of all how he could bring joy into an ordinary day - he could always make me laugh with his great sense of humor and how he told the best stories! I always loved to hear about how much fun he had on his annual vacations (the Fiji trip sounded amazing). Extending prayers and love to the Castro family, Juan will be deeply missed.

I cannot believe you are no longer with us, truly sadden. However, I believe that God has bigger plans for you. Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in my heart. I will never forget his wisdom, kindness, courage & what he taught me; you will always be appreciated & admired; I thank you for all you did. I lost a boss/friend, but the universe received a new beautiful star. You left so much behind for us to carry on your torch, I could never be as good as you, but I will do my best to make you proud Juan! GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN..

To the family: As a boss I deeply respect, please accept my condolences for your loss. Wishing you peace to bring comfort and the courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. May your sadness pass, with memories and good wishes carrying you to a place of comfort and peace.

Juan's passing is a terrible shock and loss for those he left at the workplace he loved, GDIT. Juan was a master at his work and a leader through and through. There is no one who didn't trust that deep, secure voice of Juan's knowing that his advice would always prove right. My deepest sympathy to Kim-- as our sense of loss, while huge, comes no where close to her loss. My heart goes out to Kim. We will remember Juan and talk about the wonderful traits he possessed that we all aspire to everyday. For that is the only way we will heal from the loss of Juan. I know the echo of his strong voice will remain in my memory for a long time to come. Fran Neville, GDIT

I am saddened to hear that Juan, a dear member of our GDIT family, has passed away. When it came to Security matters, Juan was the man! I learned so much from him and cherished the time he took to pass along his wisdom in support of myself, the team, and our customer. He will remain a part of all the success stories I pass along to others about how the GDIT team got it done every time.

My prayers go out to Juan’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

So sad to hear about his passing. Juan was always ready to help with problems and not create unneeded drama. He also lived near me and I often bumped into him on Friday nights out to dinner at the Red Lobster. He will be missed.

God, I can't believe it. I worked at GD for 20 years and knew Juan for most of it. When I got fed up and frustrated I'd walk down the hall and just drop in on Juan. He had a quiet, confident way about him that just said "this too shall pass and it will get better". Lost a good friend and confidant. Our hearts go to you. Lisa and Lindy Tagliaferri
