Ingeborg(Inga) Carton, age 89 died on February 7, 2021 in Ocala, FL.

Inga is survived by her daughter Pamela Burner of Ocala, FL, her son-in-law, Jack Burner of Ocala, FL, her sister, Anita Lehner of Bad Tolz, Germany & her brother-in-law, Hans Lehner of Bad Tolz, Germany. She is preceded in death by her parents, George & Anna Lingdinger of Penzberg, Germany and by her husband Thomas Carton of Brookfield, IL.
Inga was born on April 22, 1931 in Kronach, Germany. She came to the US in 1954 after marrying James Bates whom she met when he was stationed in Germany with the US Air Force. They adopted a daughter, Pam in 1962 and were divorced in 1974. She married Thomas Carton in 1977 and they remained married until his death in 2011. She was then involved in a relationship with John Lawrence from 2012 until his death in 2016.
During her working years, Inga was employed as an administrative assistant and office manager for several companies over the years. After retiring, she and Tom spent many years traveling the country in their motor home. They made many friends through their travels.
Inga moved to Ocala in 2016. She purchased a house in Ocala Palms near her daughter and son-in-law. She made many friends and enjoyed fixing up her house and going on outings with her friends. Following a stroke in 2017, she moved into memory care at Bridgewater Park. She was able to still enjoy gardening, reading and was also able to take a few more trips with her daughter and son-in-law.
Inga was a life long learner. She was an avid gardener, loved travel, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a friend to many people over the years and was always willing to lend a helping hand when it was needed.
Because of Covid, no memorial service will be held at this time. The family would like to thank all those who have sent their condolences and shared their memories of Inga.

    Inga, I miss you already, I remember your beautiful soul, so happy and accepting.
    You had a charming way about you that captured the hearts of everyone in the room.
    I remember us talking about Egypt and Germany and how being from different countries is like.
    On one evening, I was over your place where you had cooked for me the most delicious schnitzel I ever had. I was so awed by your hospitality and eagerness to please your friend.
    So Goodbye my friend. I believe souls are present around us and if you can read my message I want you to know that you will be so missed.
    I found a beautiful poem that I would like to share with you.

    There Is No Death

    There is a plan far greater than the plan you know;

    There is a landscape broader than the one you see.

    There is a haven where storm-tossed souls may go-

    You call it death - we, immortality.

    You call it death - this seeming endless sleep;

    We call it birth - the soul at last set free.

    'Tis hampered not by time or space - you weep.

    Why weep at death? 'Tis immortality.

    Farewell, dear voyageur -'twill not be long.

    Your work is done - now may peace rest with thee.

    Your kindly thoughts and deeds- they will live on.

    This is not death -'tis immortality.

    Farewell, dear voyageur - the river winds and turns;

    The cadence of your song wafts near to me,

    And now you know the thing that all men learn:

    There is no death - there's immortality.

    I will miss so many things about Inga, but my favorite memory will always be our comments when I took her to see Fifty Shades of Gray.....they were more entertaining than the movie!
    Save me a seat on the aisle beautiful friend.

    With love always,
