Obituary

Ione B. Tedder, 98, of Fort Myers, passed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was born on October 23, 1919 in Tennille, GA to the late Robert L. and Eva Braswell.

At an early age, she moved with her family to Ft. Pierce, Florida. There, she met and married Johnny Stroud, who was died in service during WWII. Several years later, she met and married her second husband, Marion J. Tedder. In 1965, the family moved to Ft. Myers when her husband acquired the Anheuser-Busch distributorship, Tedder Distributing.

She was active in various service clubs within the community and was always involved with her church family at First Christian Church. She was a wonderful mother to her two daughters and a gentle and loving grandmother to her grandchildren. They enjoyed many summers in the cool summer breezes of Highlands, NC with family and many dear friends from Lee County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Helen B. King.

She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Curtis (Bud) and Beth Reisman (Marc), both of Fort Myers, seven grandchildren, Jenna DuPree of Maui, Cathy McWhorter (Justin) of Atlanta, Emily Hidaka (Kenji) of Japan, Lauren Summers (Aaron) and Kristen Curtis of Jacksonville, Corey Wilson (April) of Ft. Myers, and Jessie Reisman of Los Angeles. Also surviving her are three great grandchildren, Cawley, Lillian Ione, her namesake, and Henry, her brother, Bob Braswell of Atlanta, a nephew Alan King and Jim Tedder (Debbie) of Ft. Pierce and dear friend, Vivian Wingo and longtime housekeeper/friend, Sarah Addison.

Special thanks goes out to her wonderful caregivers and chefs at Cypress Cove, especially her constant companion and our angel, Sharon Black.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Christian Church on McGregor Blvd. at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 6.

Family and friends may sign the guest register or leave a condolence message by visiting www.baldwincremation.com.

We are truly sadden for our dear friend Mr.Bob and his family with the loss of his sister. Mr. Bob has been very proud of Mrs. Ione as she continued to progress from her past illness. He always kept us updated on her condition. We, as well as his Wednesday night prayer group of friends at Northeast Baptist have been there through his good times and the not so good. . God has taken this lady to a better place that has no suffering. Truly God is pleased to have her at his side now. We all need to stand strong for each other. And pray we too will enter into the gates of his beautiful gardens.Where now a beautiful rose is blooming on the other side.
