Irene Bouchard Bragdon, age 74, died of hemorrhagic stroke on June 11, 2022, in Gainesville, FL. Irene is survived by her husband, Bruce Bragdon, of The Villages, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Julie Bragdon, of Denver, CO, their children Max and Charlie and her daughter and son-in-law, Tara (Bragdon) and Derek Fox, of Falmouth, ME and their children Parker and Cole. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Bouchard and her mother, Maxine Cyr Bouchard, of Caribou, ME.
Irene was born April 6, 1948, in Caribou, ME. She graduated from Caribou High School and moved to Portland, ME to study dental hygiene at Westbrook College. While in college she met and married Bruce and soon welcomed their son, Todd. They moved to Philadelphia, PA where Irene began her dental hygiene career and Bruce studied Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania.
Eventually they moved to Durham, New Hampshire where they settled down, started a dental practice, and welcomed their daughter Tara. In 1985, Irene began a new career as a Real Estate Broker. She loved helping families find homes in the greater Durham area. During her career she served as a director of Strafford County Board of Realtors (1992-1998) and served on the Professional Standards Committee (1992-2001). Irene spent time helping those in need, providing meals, assisting with rides to doctor’s appointments and donating gifts during the holidays. She also participated in the NH Public Broadcasting Station’s annual fundraising events and was dedicated member of the community. Irene loved living in Durham and made many lifelong friends.
In 2014 Irene and Bruce moved to The Villages, FL and have enjoyed their retirement together. Irene will be remembered by her kind heart and bright smile.
