James Roger Hagan, Sr., 88, of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Huntington, West Virginia passed away on April 16, 2012 at the Hospice House of Port Orange. He was born on June 7, 1923 in Huntington, WV to J.B. and Grace Dixon Hagan. Roger was a graduate of Huntington High School and attended Marshall College until he was drafted by the United States Army. He served in World War II. He retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as Maintenance Director with 35 years of service. Roger had several Beagle dogs that he ran in Field Trials over the years and belonged to several Beagle Clubs. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred; two brothers, Paul Hagan of Chesapeake, Ohio, Joe Hagan of California and step-son, Roy Rice of Huntington, WV. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Rice Hagan, son, Jim Hagan (Debbie) of Cresent City, FI., granddaughter, Terri Ann Bickerstaff (Phillip) of Mississippi; two-step daughters, Shirley Cook of Port Orange, FL and Linda Davis (Jim) of Huntington, WV. Five step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren. He loved his little dog "Missy". He had many special neighbors; Jay, Cindy, Brian, Diane, Betty, Rene, Michael, Jennie, Dick, Joan and Zosh. Thank you to those special people at the Hospice Care Center who helped him pass with dignity. Memorial Services will be held in Huntington.
