Obituary

Jack Gary Livingston, 87 years old, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019 at home in Leesburg, Florida with his wife of 64 years by his side.  He is survived by his wife, Arlene Livingston, Leesburg, FL and his children, Gary Livingston (Lesa), Coral Springs, Fl, Sharon Arnold (William), Fruitland Park Fl and Terri Leslie (Scott), Nevada, IA. He was the devoted Papaw and Jack to 4 grandchildren, Christopher Stout (Alyssa), Marietta, OH, Chase Stout, Ames, IA, Colton Leslie, Nevada, IA and Jessica James (Lucas) Leesburg, FL. Two days before he passed he learned of his first Great Grandchild (a girl) who is expected in September.  He also left behind 2 sisters, Ann Livingston and Jan O’Malley, Attalla, AL and 2 brothers, Mickey Livingston, Attalla, AL and Phillip Livingston, Huntsville, AL. He was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Edna Livingston and brothers, Jerry, Tom and Jim.

Jack was born March 11, 1932 in Attalla, Alabama and graduated from Etowah High School in 1950.  He joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He was employed at Republic Steel from 1954 to 1986, continued employment with LTV and Gulf State Steel and retired in 1993 with 39 total years of service.

Jack and Arlene relocated from Gadsden, Alabama to Leesburg, Florida in 1994.  They enjoyed many years of travel to include Hawaii, Mexico, Aruba, and Europe. They also traveled to Iowa every year to spend weeks watching the Grandsons play baseball.

Jack was an avid Alabama Football and Tampa Rays Baseball fan and most days could be found in the Florida Room watching his favorite teams or listening to country music on Pandora with his ipad.

Jack spent most Sunday mornings watching Joel Osteen and often recorded the messages to share with others.

He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him but we are comforted by the knowledge that he is waiting for us in Heaven.

The interment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
