Obituary
Jack Lowell Parish, 93, of Ponce Inlet, FL, passed away on December 23, 2015 at the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home, St. Augustine, FL. Jack was born on July 11, 1922 in Washington, Iowa to the late George Lowell and Caroline (Dettmer) Parish. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving as an Officer during WWII. Jack was a graduate of Bradley University and of the University of Illinois. He retired as a Professional Engineer working for DOT/FL, the Army Corp of Engineers/Texas and several private engineering firms including ITT/Palm Coast. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Opal I. Parish of Ponce Inlet, FL. Additional survivors include his daughter, Janet K. Parish; his son-in-law, Gary M. Brindza; his brother, George Dale Parish; his grandson, Scott J. Disbennett; his granddaughter, Amy M. Disbennett Sirmans (Russ) and great-grandchildren Jackson Cooper Sirmans and Maya Sirmans. Jack was preceded in death by his sons, Stephen, Joe and David Parish. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home or the Alzheimer’s Association.
