Jack Mitchell Cole, 90 years old, of New Smyrna Beach, died May 14, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. Jack was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on July 12, 1919. He was a veteran of the US Navy and has been a resident of New Smyrna Beach since 1953. He was predeceased by his wife, Jereldine (Jere) on January 22, 2005. Survivors include one daughter, Neva Jane Cole and her good friend, Wilma Gordon; son, J. Mitchell (Debbie) Cole; three grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn (Nathan) Lee, and Robert M. and Matthew Cole. He is also survived by a beloved niece, Judith Mack of Santa Barbara, California; one nephew James Schrim of Columbus, Ohio and niece, Sarah Page of New York City; along with caregivers, Stacey Fenner and Sharon Purdie.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach.
