Obituary
Jackie B. (Pop) Wilson passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 at his home in The Villages FL with family at his side, he was 87 years old. Jack was born August 28, 1932 in Burlington NC. He was one of 4 children and is preceded in death by his mother Lexie Maie Wilson, father Edward Gray Wilson, brother Edward Lawrence Wilson, sister Eleanor Ingle, and son Teddy Ray Stacy. He married the love of his life Lula Lorene Adkins of Fairborn OH, in 1954. In 1951, following high school, he joined the USAF where he proudly served his country for 25 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving many medals and honors including The Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired from the Presidential Squadron, Andrews AFB MD in 1975.He then became a letter carrier for the USPS in Venice FL . Following retirement his love for travel took him and “Rene” RVing across the U.S. landing in Spring City TN, Yuma AZ, and Fairborn OH. Finally settling in The Villages FL, where he enjoyed Happy Hour daily at 5 O’clock. He is loved by many friends and family including his wife “Rene” Wilson, his sister Eula (Richard) Patterson, sister-in-law Shirley Wilson, son Jack (Bridget) Wilson, daughter Tammy (Larry) Everett. 4 grand children, 3 great grandchildren and his pup Sparky. Family request memorial donations to the VA Clinic by mail to : NF/SG VHS 8900 SE 165th Mulberry Ln The Villages FL 32162. Services to be scheduled at a later date.
