Obituary
Jacqueline Jean Kyd (Abbott), age 86 of Fort Meyers FL and formerly of Algonquin IL passed away on Saturday July 29 2023. She was born on August 28 1936 to George Sydney and Alice Rose Abbott (Sinko). She graduated from Elgin High School in 1954. She married Robert Kyd of Lake in the Hills and had a son Robert. She had worked for Chicago Rawhide in Elgin and Triumph Twist Drill in Crystal Lake. She retired to Fort Meyers FL in 1993. Once in Florida she unretired and began a 20 year career with Publix grocery creating unique flower displays. She traveled to many NFL games across the country as a founding member of the Chicago Bears Fan Club. She remained in Fort Meyers until her passing. Beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister, she will remain in our thoughts forever.
She is survived by son Robert and daughter in-law Virginia; grandchildren James, William, and Jessica Kyd; sisters Marlene Olson and Kim Abbott; brother George Abbott; nephews Mark,Chris,Andy, Scott and niece Michelle; and her little dog Kody. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert Kyd and brother Roger Abbott.
Graveside services to be held Saturday August 26, 2023 at 11 am at Dundee Township East Cemetary, Rt 72 & 25, Dundee. Luncheon will be follow after at Nicks Pizza & Pub in Elgin. Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to family.
