Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family and friends of James L. Butler announce his passing
on March 15, 2022, at the age of 83 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Frances Butler, his son David Butler, daughter Bobby Jo Rice, his stepchildren Jeff Phillabaum, Debra Bacon, Mike Phillabaum,
Jessica Bell, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Jim was born in Harrisburg, PA. on June 11, 1938 to parents James and Aldine. He called both Florida and Ohio home. His first 54 years were spent in Ohio where one of his passions was competitive Roller Skating. He accomplished several State and Regional Championships in Freestyle and continued to be a Professional instructor. In 1982 he married Frances Phillabaum. In 1992 they moved to Orlando to enjoy the weather and his second passion, Boating. Jim was an avid boater, belonging to Florida Boating Adventure and over the years made many boat trips throughout Florida.
Jim loved family, friends, dancing, get together with friends and good times. He was the person
in the room that could always make new friends and always had a smile on his face. He will be sorely missed by all but fondly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held in a soon to be announced date for family and friends to come together and share memories, tell stories, visit with family and friends to honor the Life of a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
