James Edward Stajdel age 59 of La Jolla, CA died on October 12, 2012 in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Jim is survived by his wife, Tanya Jankovic Stajdel, four sisters and two brothers.
Born April 15, 1953 in Miami, FL, Jim was the fifth of seven children of the late Elizabeth and Louis Stajdel. He graduated from East Jefferson High School and furthered his educational path at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He started his professional career in catering with the Hyatt and Hilton hotels in New Orleans. In the mid-80’s, Jim moved to San Diego to further his business endeavors. He married the love of his life, Tanya, in 1989. Together they embarked on a great adventure when they opened Cosmopolitan Fine Art Gallery in La Jolla, CA. Jim delighted in their mutual interest for the arts and enjoyed traveling the world.
Jim's entrepreneurial genius was only surpassed by his unwavering passion for music. Starting Rainband Records in 1996, Jim dedicated his musical pursuits; writing powerful ballads that called for political and social change across the world. Jim's life mirrored his inspiring music; it was vivacious and filled with joy. Above all, Jim was a man of profound integrity, whose warmth and kindness had an impact on everyone who had the great privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services for Jim will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.
