James H. “Buddy” Yarborough, III, DVM
age 82
Dr. Buddy passed away August 25, 2018 after a brave fight against cancer. He was a graduate of Edison High School in Miami 1954; U of Florida 1960 in Dairy Science; DVM degree Auburn University 1964. A member of local, state and national Veterinary Medical Associations. Over 30 years a member of Miami Beach Rod & Reel Club involved in conservation of marine and fresh water fisheries. He was co-owner of Galloway Animal Clinic in Miami, FL until 1997 along with his wife Dr. Charleen Perry Yarborough, DVM.His love of salt water angling was only exceeded by his love of Veterinary Medicine; the pets and owners who were like family; and his own family. He was preceeded in death by his parents Dr. J.H. Yarborough, DVM & Kathleen Francis Yarborough; Father and Mother-in-Law Charlton Perry and Elizabeth Perry Moody; and step Father-in-Law Bruce R. Moody: sister-in-law Jan P. Blanchard; brother-in-law Hugh C. Perry.He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, wife Charleen Perry Yarborough, DVM; daughter Leigh McCullough (Robert); granddaughter Sydney McCullough; son Spencer Yarborough (Karey Carlton); brother-in-law Bob Blanchard and his children Walker Blanchard and Martha B. Carr (John), their children Kaycee and Jack Carr; sister-in- law Peggy W. Perry and her children Charlton Perry (Courtney and her son Ben Ellison) and Roger Perry (Susan Smith); step-sister in-law Virginia Gwaltney (Joe) and family; his beloved dog Zoe; treasured friends; The Andrews family, his valued neighbors, and extended family members.
As per his request there will be no funeral or memorial service. His wishes were to have his ashes scattered where many Snook “shook the hook”. In remembrance, if you wish, a donation to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N Fair Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203 or an Animal Shelter of your choice would be a fitting tribute.
