James “Jim” Harrison Rannings, 86 of Edgewater died peacefully Monday, July 1, 2013 with his wife and family by his side. Jim was born November 21, 1926 in Mottville, NY to the late Elizabeth and Harrison Rannings. He served his country with the United States Army during WW II. Jim and his wife, Mary moved to this area in 1991 from New York. He enjoyed going for walks on the beach with his wife and was an avid gun collector. Jim also enjoyed working on cars with his sons. He will be remembered for his commitment to his family. Jim was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda and Brenda; one granddaughter and two siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; eight children, James, Steven, Michael, David, John, Betty Amrhein, Deborah Rotundo and Robert; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A life celebration will be held 2PM, Friday July 5, 2013 at the Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N. Causeway, New Smyrna Beach. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 12 Noon until service time. Interment to follow Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery.
