Obituary

James L Moran, 69 years of age, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at a Waterman Hospital in Leesburg, FL surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to his late parents, James E Moran and Ethlea Moran, and he was the 2nd of four children, two of his siblings, preceded him in death.

James grew up in Miami, Florida until he was drafted into the Vietnam War.  After the war, he was married to his first wife, Gretchen Evers, a union which produced two children, Heather and Sean. He later remarried, to his loving and adoring Marylin, who was the apple of his eye as the two were practically inseparable. He began his career at Bell South in 1972 was a telephone repair man and worked his way up to the SSIM crew.  His career at Bell South lasted 39 years.

In 2009, he moved from Miami, Florida to Leesburg, Florida to build his ultimate car garage.  From an early age, James was a muscle car enthusiast.  He enjoyed working on cars and spent a good deal of time restoring a rally red 1970 AAR Cuda.  However, his true love was Mopar and this love of cars led him to become President of the Mopar Car Club.  He loved to display his 1970 AAR Cuda, which was his baby.

James is survived by wife Marylin Moran, brother Michael (Shea) Moran, his children Heather (Michael) Lane, Sean Moran, and his grandchildren.

I met James Moran, when he was in Miami close to bird road area. He was an amazing person. He loved Mopars. Very fun to talk to. He had a lot of 1/8 scale Mopar diecast models also. I will always miss him. I met his wife too. She is a great lady. Rest in peace Mr Moran. You will be missed !
