Obituary

James R. Rustino of Daytona Beach and formerly of Stratham, NH died peacefully on December 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Somerville, MA on May 31, 1935 he was the son of the late James and Adele Rustino.
True to his automotive passion, he founded Export Auto Body and Towing in Medford, MA. Being the entrepreneur that he was, he ventured off to begin the Atlantic Sub Base and Emergency Ice in Salisbury, MA. Returning to his automotive roots, he founded Atlantic Transmission Rebuilders in Amesbury, MA in 1985, which he ran until he retired in 2014.
James enjoyed anything with a motor. Classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors and especially boats. He was a lifelong member of the North End Boat Club in Newburyport, MA.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen Fedor Rustino, daughter Cheryl Whelan and her husband Pat of Daytona Beach, FL and their son Joseph and his wife Jennifer, daughter Diane DiGiau and her husband Bill of Stratham, NH and their children Stephanie and her husband Kevin, and Billy and his wife Celina, and his four loving great grandchildren, his sister Adele Rustino and her husband Warren, and his sisters-in-law Patricia Kustom, Mary Fedor and Valerie Fedor, and his nephews and nieces, in addition to many loving and supportive friends.
James’ family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Monday, December 16 at the Heritage Place at Baldwin Brothers, 620 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, with a service at 3:30 pm.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff of the Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL for their tremendous care and support.
