James R. Vincent, 85, of Fort Myers, FL, died peacefully on August 23, 2021. He was born July 13, 1936, in Lyons, Kansas. He married Marilyn Mullin on December 15,1956. Jim was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1962. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in 1989 after 32 years of distinguished service. That same year he founded VW International, Inc., a Healthcare Engineering and Management Firm. Jim later retired to Fort Myers where he was active in the community and spent time with good friends and family.
Jim is survived by two sons, James Allen of Alexandria, Virginia and Robert Doran of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Amanda Vincent of Tucson, Arizona and Taylor Vincent of Washington D.C., a brother, Frank of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and two sisters, Sharon Kendall of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Katherine Secor of Ohio.
Services will be held at the First Christian Church at 2061 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lee Health Memorial Foundation using the link below. All are welcome to attend, please dress casually in bright colors in celebration of Jim’s life.
