Obituary

James Ronald Kozaritz, age 86, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Edgewater at Waterman Village in Mount Dora, Florida. Born in Chicago, Illinois, “Jim,” as he was known, came to Florida in 1979 with his wife Arlene and lived in Longwood, Daytona Beach and Edgewater, Florida.

Jim served in the Army National Guard of Illinois and in the Army Reserve. He was a hard-working individual in many different businesses throughout his career including working at the family business, Dutch’s Drive-in in Chicago, and a co-owner with his beloved wife, Arlene, of All Weather Windows of Edgewater. He enjoyed fishing, spending time on the beach, NASCAR, football, and dining at his favorite restaurants with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his son, Jim Kozaritz Jr. (Elizabeth) of South Elgin, Illinois; daughter, Mary Usyak (Brad) of Grayslake, Illinois; daughter, Cynthia Werner of Tavares, Florida; daughter, Heidi Mocchi (Jim) of Geneva, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, parents Joe and May Kozaritz, sister Judy, and brother Joe.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society SE Florida, 1737 N. Clyde Morris Blvd, Suite 140, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.

A celebration of life service will be held later this summer at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1350 East Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, Florida. Details will be announced at a later date.
