Obituary
James Scott Porter, age 49, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Florida Hospital in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was born October 21, 1968 in Lakeland, Florida. He was the owner-operator of Porter’s Exterminating LLC and owner operator of Porter Tree Service LLC. Scott truly lived life to the fullest with his heart full of love for his family and friends. Always there for those who needed a shoulder to lean on. His faith in the Lord was always his first priority letting everyone he touched know about his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his mother, Linda Porter who was truly his angel his whole life; father, Ray Porter who taught him many of life’s most valuable lessons; His son, Andrew Greer Porter who was the core of his heart always supporting his belief’s and goals in life; his sister, Tonya Gandy, who he loved so deeply and always loved being with; his fiance’, Gina Fenner-Hogan who he loved dearly and planned to live the rest of his earthly life with; his niece, Jenna Gandy, who he loved talking to about life and health; his nephew, Jacob Newberry, who he loved to wrestle, play video games and offer advise to; his great niece, Zea Earing, who he loved and was just getting to know; Gina’s children, Miranda, who he would give direction and guidance to for her future; Marissa, who he encouraged and supported her schooling and the love they shared for their animals; Matthew, who he had a close bond with playing ball and teaching him to sing country songs on the way to school every morning. He loved them all as his own children. He is also survived by his many friends. Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church located at 200 Faulkner Street, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168. A Celebration of Life will be planned in the near future.
