James W. Silvis

November 15, 1964, to February 21, 2023

He resided in Ocala, Florida

He was born in Lansing, Michigan. James grew up in Mason, Michigan, graduating from Mason High School in 1983.

James worked in Jack Sander’s Furniture Store in Albion, Michigan repairing television and electronics. He then went to work for Gene Sorgi (his favorite job he loved the most) at Jilco in Marshall, Michigan and Patriot Antenna Systems in Albion, Michigan.

He married Beth (nee Marsh) March 7, 1987, in Lansing, Michigan. They had two daughters, Alexia and Crista, whom they raised in Albion, Michigan. After a hard winter, he decided to have no more snow, so their whole family moved to Ocala, Florida in 2014 where they have lived ever since.

He enjoyed watching his birds from his front porch. James raised chickens as a hobby and 2 ducks. He liked putting together his car models. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren about car repair, electric repair, house repair. He could do it all and loved sharing his knowledge with his family.

James was preceded in death by his mother Carolyn (nee Hoffman-Bruhn) Silvis in August 2022, and granddaughter Maylen Deanna McCarrick in August 2004. James is survived by wife Beth (nee Marsh) Silvis, his father James A. Silvis, his daughters Alexia Rouse and Crista Sarver. Their children; Annika McCarrick, Jaiden and James Rouse, Garret and Hunter Sarver, Bryson, and Faye Sarver. His brother Todd Silvis (Lisa), two sisters Tracy (Mike) Wing, Wendi (Terry) Ellsworth. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, many of the best friends you could ever hope to have!

There will not be a memorial service at this time. Cremation has taken place.
