Obituary

James D. Weaver (Jim), retired engineer from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, Ohio and member of the Parma Auxiliary Police Department in Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Shell Point Village in Fort Myers, Florida following years of health issues stemming from his first stroke in December of 2007.

Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated from West Tech High School. He attended Ohio University for a couple of years and then joined the US Army Reserves and began his 30 year career with Chrysler Corporation as a production engineer. He married Alice Shepherd in 1959 and together they had three boys.

Although Jim and Alice divorced in 1971, they remained life-long friends. After the divorce Jim found his second calling in law enforcement. He joined the Parma Auxiliary Police Department as well as Cleveland Municipal Stadium Security. He routinely volunteered his time to special interests and was a regular on Sundays directing traffic at St. Charles church in Parma, Ohio.  In 2003 he met the love of his life, Cathy Schuett, and were married in Las Vegas, NV in 2004. He subsequently picked up and moved to Fort Myers, FL to settle in with his new wife.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father (Evelyn and Harold Weaver) and is survived by his loving wife Cathy and sister Joan (Newland). He is also survived by his children Scott (Christine) of Atlanta, GA, David (Kathy) of Cleveland, OH, and James (Debbie) of Atlanta, GA, and grandchildren Nicole (Nathan Gestwick), Alexis, Heather, Kyle, Bradley, Holly, and Cierra.
