Obituary

Jane peacefully passed into the arms of Our Lord on July 7, 2022, at the age of 80.  She was born March 18, 1942, New York, to the late Wesley and Lena Dudley.  Jane’s mother passed away when Jane was 11 years old.  Jane was raised by her father and his sister, Aunt Frannie, “Fran Timmerman”.

Jane graduated from the University of Buffalo, School of Nursing, and worked as a staff nurse for the Buffalo Veterans’ Administration Hospital.   Throughout her nursing career, Jane received numerous commendations from her administrators.   Jane was admired and respected for her dedication, devotion and care for our Veterans.    She was a passionate advocate for Veterans’ Rights and traveled throughout the United States in pursuit of raising support, awareness, and funding, for our Veterans.  She was a huge supporter of Wounded Warriors and the Salvation Army by generously supporting both organizations monthly throughout the entire year.

Jane retired to NSB with her husband in 2004 and resided at the New Smyrna Beach Campground for the next 16 years.  Jane became a resident of the Fairgreen Assisted Living Facility in 2020 until she passed away at the Edgewater Halifax Hospice facility.

Jane is predeceased by her husband, Richard, “Dick” Sheedy who passed away in 2013.

Jane was a woman of many talents and excelled at all her endeavors.   Her needlepoint, her paintings and various crafts were appreciated by those who loved her.

Jane will be missed by all those who loved her and especially by Sharon Senuta and Zee Zerillo who cared for her throughout their nearly 20-year friendship.

Baldwin Brothers is in charge of arrangements.   Burial is private.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Hospice in Edgewater, FL.

    Jane was a phenomenal individual and RN. I worked with her at the VA Medical Center, Newington CT. She was loved by everyone. May God bless her.
