Obituary

Janet B Donohue, 75, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012.  She was born on October 19, 1936 in Queens NY to Fred and Ethel Blaylock.  A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Coronado United Methodist Church, 201 South Peninsula Avenue  at 10:00am.  Janet was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and loved animals.  She was a member of the Coronado United Methodist Church since 1986.  She belonged to the Martha Circle at Coronado United Methodist Church.  Janet was a very caring person who spent her time as an Active Volunteer for many organizations. She was a member of the Republican Club, Secretary of Ocean Club North Condo Association.  Janet was a nurse in the operating room for 30 years at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.  She obtained her nursing degree from Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY.  She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Peter; sister Anne Uher;  3 nieces and many loving cousins; aunt Frances Hugger; sister-in-law Evelyn Donohue.  Janet will be missed by all who loved her.   Donations may be made in her honor to Florida United Methodist Children’s  Home,  Development Department 51 Main Street, Enterprise, FL 32725       Donations may be made in her honor to Florida United Methodist Childrens Home, Development Department 51 Main Street, Enterprise, Florida 32725 A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Coronado United Methodist Church, 201 South Peninsula Avenue  at 10:00am.

    We volunteered with Jan packing boxes for our Troops. We admired her dedication, hard work, and caring spirit. She will be sorely missed by many. We pray that her husband and family find strength and comfort to get through this most difficult time. Our sincerest condolences.
