Obituary

Janet Doris Bowen, a woman known for her outgoing personality, sarcastic sense of humor and being a people person, peacefully passed away on Sunday August 20, 2023 in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Born on February 4, 1957, in Camden, New Jersey to Doris Clark and James Cassidy. Janet was someone who was full of life and left an impression on everyone she met. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1975 and obtained an associate’s degree from Camden County College.

Janet is survived by her brother William James Cassidy, her two daughters Sarah Lynn Shover and Jamie Lee Shover and her two grandchildren Carson Ray Howard and Alexandria Faye Chappell, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Janet lived a simple life, loved the beach and swimming in the ocean, crabbing and gardening. As a child she was a bowling prodigy starting at the young age of eight and competed in many competitions throughout her teenage years. She also enjoyed ice skating with her father as a child. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends regardless of what they did together. Predominantly, Janet was a wonderful, caring mother and an even better grandmother who will be missed very much by all.

You are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honor on Sunday, September 3rd from 10:00 till noon at Baldwin Brothers located at 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL.
