Obituary

Janice Evelyn Touzin, 71, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on February 16, 1954, Janice was the cherished daughter of George and Frances Marr. From the very beginning, she brought warmth, curiosity, and laughter into the lives of everyone she met.

After graduating from East Providence High School in 1972, Janice followed her passion for helping others and earned an associate degree in radiologic technology. She spent her career as a radiologic technologist, where her kindness, professionalism, and caring heart made a lasting impact on countless patients and colleagues. She retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.

Horses were Janice’s lifelong Passion. She was an accomplished equestrian and a proud member of several dressage organizations in both Florida and Rhode Island. Her deep connection with horses reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for patience, trust, and beauty in all forms. She also found great joy in fox hunting, and it was during one of those hunts in 2005 that she married the love of her life, Marcel Touzin — a story that perfectly captures her sense of adventure and her romantic heart.

Janice loved exploring the world. Whether traveling to Peru, Hawaii, or simply discovering hidden treasures closer to home, she approached every journey with enthusiasm and wonder. She believed life was meant to be lived fully — and she did just that.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Marcel Touzin; her brother, Russell Marr; and her daughter, Christina Cyrway. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Marr.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather to share memories and honor the beautiful life she lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Janice’s memory do so in a way that reflects her love of horses. Consider supporting a local equine rescue, therapeutic riding center, or horse welfare organization — or simply spend a quiet moment with a horse, offering the same patience, kindness, and respect that Janice showed every day.
