Obituary

Janice Elaine Hallowell, 74, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2023, at the Halifax Medical Center of Daytona Beach, Fl. She was born on November 6, 1948, the youngest daughter of the late Ben. R. Hallowell and Lucille M. Jordan Hallowell. Her military family moved from South Carolina to Orlando, Florida in 1957 and eventually retired there. She and her family attended the Azalea Park United Methodist Church in Orlando.

Miss Hallowells’ greatest joy in life was her family, their many pets, her two beloved canine support/companions, and helping others. Along with many years of working as a Chef and Care Giver for Adult & Childrens’ Assisted Living Facilities, she was active in Animal Rescue and Foster Care.

Miss Hallowell is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Nikki) Hallowell (Daytona Beach, FL), her granddaughter, Jessica Hallowell, (Gainesville, FL), her canine support /companion, “Kellin” (with Nikki), her sister, Judith Sopp, as well as nephews, Jerry Moody, John Moody and Jeff Moody, niece Tandre’ Moody, and grandniece Cadence Moody (all of Altamonte Springs, FL). She is also survived by her aunt, Betty Turner Jordan (Lancaster, SC), and a host of cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Miss Hallowell to your local Animal Rescue & Adoption Organizations. A Memorial Service will be held in Orlando, FL at the Azalea Park United Methodist Church, at a future date and time to be announced.

Take care of my precious Rusty dear cousin...he was rotten after those steak scraps, and lived to 20yo. I know you're with our mamas, and Michael, who loved you so.
We miss you.
