Obituary
Jay was born September 10,1948 in Gettysburg, PA. He was a graduate of Shippensburg, PA. Jay was a wonderful , caring man who loved his family and friends. Jay worked for Yellow-Roadway Trucking Company for 41 years in Daytona Beach, Florida, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Stanford, Connecticut. He was an avid fly fisherman who traveled to many beautiful places to fish. His favorite spots were in Islamorada, Florida and the mountains of North Carolina. His greatest passion was fly fishing in small streams away from it all. Jay was predeceased by his mother Frieda Ogline and father Wilbur K. Baker, son Kevin Baker, and brother Ronald Gene Baker. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Roweena Moore-Baker of Longwood, Florida, a sister Donna Hess and husband Don Hess of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and sister-in-law Vicki Baker of Newville, PA. Jay has 7 surviving children, Jay Baker, Jr. of Jacksonville, Jodi Baker of Bradenton, Florida, Adam Baker, of Scott AFB in Illinois, Joy Baker of Bradenton, Florida, Stephen Baker of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Jamie Smith of Altamonte Springs, Florida, and Darcie Kinyon of Bothell, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Vickie’s Angel Foundation, 511 Bridge Street, P.O. Box 174, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania 17070; a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support for families fighting cancer.
