Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of J Roger Shelton announce his passing on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the age of 83.
Born in Arnett, Oklahoma on May 10, 1936 he was the youngest of 8 children. Lovingly known as Coke, early in his youth he established a passioin for the outdoors, animals and music by teaching himself to play the guitar. On June 1, 1957 he married his wife of 62 years, Vesta (Forester) Shelton, and they moved to Wichita, KS to raise their family. He worked for Love Box Company for 37 years and was the proud father of Shelene (Shelton) Richardson and Wesley Shelton.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, son and other relatives. Including his granddaughters Shanna Bird and Robin Barthelme, and great grandchildren Addison Bird, Emmi Bird, Dylan Barthelme and Makayla Barthelme. He is proceeded in death by his
mother Pearl Shelton, and brothers, Calvin, Dennis, Owen and Joe. He was a lifelong fan of the University of Oklahoma and enjoyed watching Sooner football and basketball as much as possible.
